MCCA Virtual Allied Health Conference: Part I
Friday, October 08, 2021, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM CST
Category: Professional Development

We are excited to announce that the MCCA Allied Health Conference is back! This year, the event will be held virtually as a two-part webinar series with Dr. Andra Ferguson of State Fair Community College.

In this webinar series, Dr. Ferguson will address the issue of compassion fatigue — an increasingly important topic in the era of COVID-19. Healthcare workers everywhere are tired, overwhelmed and frustrated. Morale is low, and industry leaders are losing good employees. How can we help?

Join us Friday, October 8 from 12 - 2 p.m. and Wednesday, October 13 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. as Dr. Ferguson discusses preventing, identifying and treating compassion fatigue and how to build it into your curriculum. If you can't make both times, don't worry. The webinars will be recorded and available for viewing later!

Dr. Ferguson is the Director of Dental Hygiene at State Fair Community College and a practicing dental hygienist of 23 years. She is also a licensed psychologist with master’s degrees in clinical and counseling psychology from the University of Central Missouri and a doctorate in health psychology from Walden University. Dr. Ferguson has practiced psychology for more than 20 years both in the classroom and in the field. She has traveled the globe providing trauma response for natural and man-made disasters and presented with multiple international groups in several countries and cites in North and South America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
