Participants will screen a documentary short about the events of 1994-95, including Rodney's coming out experiences and the founding of LGBTQ History Month, followed by a Q&A discussion about LGBTQ issues in education.

LGBT History Month

Rodney Wilson has been an educator since 1990, serving in secondary, correctional, ESOL, ABE, and community college posts. He holds two graduate degrees -- in history and in religion. In 1994, he became the first openly gay public school teacher in Missouri and founded LGBTQ+ History Month.
