MCCA2020: What you need to know before you click

Can you believe #MCCA2020 is tomorrow? This year's annual meeting has generated a tremendous amount of interest from more than 1,000 educators, leaders, and staff. We hope this virtual event provides all the guidance, tools, and resources you need to find a way forward and #StayFocused amid the global COVID-19 crisis.

As always, we have compiled tips before you click. (Note: If you completed the MCCA2020 online registration as an authorized agent on someone else's behalf, please forward them this email.)

Wherever you're joining us from, we're excited to welcome you! MCCA2020 will open its virtual doors on Wednesday, November 11 at 9 a.m. CST. At this same time, you'll receive your login credentials via email from [email protected] If you do not receive this email, check spam/junk folders before contacting [email protected]. (Note: If you call the MCCA office, you'll be directed to contact the MCCA Convention Help Team by email.)

Soon you will receive an email allowing you to access your Attendee Portal. (This email is different from the one that will contain your login credentials.) We recommend you access your portal ASAP to update and add your general information. This will be useful to other attendees, as well as our exhibitors and sponsors. Be sure to upload a picture of yourself to personalize your profile. (The recommended size is 150 x 150 PNG or JPEG.)

Check out our in-depth Tips Before You Click guide. This covers everything you need to know: what internet browser to use, how to navigate the virtual platform, redeem points for prizes, and so much more.

While you wait for the virtual event to unlock, map out your days using our program, identify sessions you can't miss, learn about our featured speakers, and get ready to honor our award recipients.

Please make sure you have read, understand, and adhere to our Virtual Code of Conduct. We want this to be an enjoyable experience for all!

Attending a Pre-Convention Business Meeting? To locate these meetings, navigate to the Networking section on the Main Menu and select the Groups tab inside the virtual platform. Once you have selected your meeting from the listing, click the Join Video Call button to enter. (You will be able prompted to review your audio and video device settings.) Please confirm the meeting start time with your council or committee chair.

Food is an essential ingredient for any gathering, which is why we've pulled together some of our favorite recipes. Grab the ingredients to make these meals and cocktails this week. The Negroni is the featured drink for this year's Opening Celebration...cheers!

Every year, you have the opportunity to give back to the host city to benefit a local charity. Although this year's event is virtual, we're keeping the tradition alive by donating all proceeds from the annual College Baskets Silent Auction to College Bound. The auction is now live through 1 p.m. CST on Friday, November 13.

Did we hear you say you need a bit of a mental break and are looking for a fun, entertaining activity? Inside the Solution Center you'll find the College Showcase and Partner Playground (and more points!).

We know things haven't been easy for any of us over the past nine months. We hope that this event will provide hope, clarity, knowledge-sharing, and a sense of belonging amongst our community. We're so glad you've chosen to join us. We appreciate your commitment and support of MCCA!

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

With gratitude,

Your MCCA Convention Team
